What we see in Highfields

Highfields has changed a lot in the last decade. You drive up the New England Highway past the older fibro and brick homes that've been there since the 70s and 80s, and then you turn into one of the new estates and it's a completely different world — double garages, solar on every second roof, and homeowners who want everything talking to everything else. The new builds around the Highfields Village area especially tend to have big wish lists from day one.

What catches people off guard with the newer project homes is how much the builders leave for later. The shell is there, the conduit might be roughed in, but if you want proper data runs or you're planning to charge an EV in that garage, you're often going back in after handover to do it properly. That's pretty standard out this way.

The acreage blocks are their own thing entirely. More distance between structures, bigger loads, and the storms that roll through here off the range can be rough. Those properties keep me fairly busy after wild weather, particularly the ones sitting more exposed on the ridge lines.
